Understanding Your Plan N Medicare Supplement

You have just been enrolled in Medicare Supplement Plan N to act as secondary coverage to your Medicare policy, but do you really understand what benefits that your plan provides? Although Plan N is not quite as comprehensive as Plan F or Plan G, it offers great benefits for its members. With premium pricing staying nice and low, you have the tools necessary to properly budget for your anticipated healthcare needs.

Plan N Medicare Supplement

Your Plan N Medicare Supplement policy benefits include:

  • Coverage for the 20% that Medicare does not cover.
  • Coverage for your Part A (hospital) deductible of $1,132 per year.
  • First three pints of blood.
  • 80% of emergency care received outside the U.S. up to a maximum of $50,000.

While you will likely be required to pay co-payments, you are rewarded by the fact that your monthly premium will stay at a low and affordable rate. Medicare Supplement Plan N is ideal for those who can expect to see the doctor for fewer visits each year, perhaps, someone who only needs to have routine well checks performed. Those who have an ongoing need for medical treatments or continual medication would be better suited with Medicare Supplement Plan F. If price is an issue, Medicare Supplement Plan G is comparable and the premium is a little bit less expensive.
